Surgeon Spotlight – Travis J. Hamilton, DMD, MD

Travis J. Hamilton, DMD, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He practices oral surgery at Colorado Oral Surgery, a USOSM partner practice with three locations – two in Denver and one in Parker, Colorado.

Dr. Hamilton holds an undergraduate degree from Portland State University and his DMD from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Dr. Hamilton earned his medical degree from and completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery through Emory University.

Following his residency, Dr. Hamilton completed a head and neck oncologic surgery fellowship at Leicester Royal Infirmary in England. During his fellowship, Dr. Hamilton performed ablative and microvascular reconstructive surgery for patients suffering from head and neck cancer.

“With head and neck oncology, you’re removing an invasive malignancy, and then moving tissue from elsewhere in the body and reconstructing the mouth and face. This takes considerable precision and is truly life-altering for patients. It was an amazing experience,” recalls Hamilton. “Being able to help people in that way is truly gratifying.”

Dr. Hamilton is skilled in a wide variety of oral and maxillofacial procedures. He has particular expertise in general anesthesia and IV sedation, dental implant surgery, advanced bone grafting, wisdom tooth removal, corrective jaw surgery and the treatment of oral pathology.

“In oral surgery, there’s a lot of variety and a lot of challenges, which are stimulating enough to keep me engaged,” adds Dr. Hamilton. “I enjoy helping people to be pain-free in a short period of time, where they feel and look their best.”
